The distinctiveness of the engineering science programs are seen through an
appreciation of the uniqueness of the program design and in conveying to
students, teaching staff, managerial staff and community its unique features.
Thus several types of objectives are considered in multiple levels.
Student-based Objectives:
- We share the institutional values of the University of Sinai and therefore we
place students at the core of our educational objectives; so it works to.
- enhance students' capacity to engage in extended project work, both on an
independent basis and in collaboration with their peers, and thereby to prepare
students for further academic study and employment.
-
explore the central features of the discipline.
-
attract students who will benefit from studying in a research-enriched
environment.
-
open access to the study of a range of specialist areas within the discipline;
-
focus on the contest nature of knowledge within the discipline
Department and Subject based Objectives:
-
To provide a seed-bed for ideas that can be exploited in research programs
within multiple departments.
-
To provide the disciplinary community with new members.
-
To constitute an example of best practice to other departments in how to teach
the discipline.
Employer-based Objectives:
- To meet the requirements of potential employers in a specific sector
Society-based Objectives:
- To positively impact on the social fabric of the local community (i.e. Sinai).
- To widen participation within the body of students studying the discipline.
- To contribute to society through the development of a sense of engineering
responsibility in the students on the program.
